General Section Meetings are held on the 3rd Wednesday of each month at the La Quinta on Rte. 46 in Fairfield unless other plans are made. Meetings begin at 6:00 PM with dinner at 6:30 PM and the program at 7:30 PM.

Monographs, Methods and Measurements

There are many components that comprise a drug product. The quality of these components may be proscribed by official monographs published by the United States Pharmacopeia in the United States and by the European Pharmacopeia for Europe. While these monographs are official standards to which the components must comply, they can be different from each other and may not meet the quality standards set by the customer. This talk will present the analytical method lifecycle including the verification of official methods, development of alternative improved methods, and the implementation of effective methods in the plant environment. Examples of useful statistical tools and techniques will be presented.
