The following policy was approved by the board:

ASQ - NJ General Section Speaker Reimbursement Policy:

It is the policy of the ASQ-NJ Section not to reimburse speakers for time, travel or materials. Speakers, and members of the executive board, are volunteers and as such are not compensated. Reimbursement requests will be considered only on a case-by-case basis preferably prior to a speaker's presentation. Reimbursement will only be made under special circumstances at the discretion of the executive board.

The recertification form (RU) will be revised to reflect the new general section dinner rates.

The costs for the General section dinners are as follows:

$28 for member per meeting,
$35 for non-member per meeting.

$115 (for the year) when paying by check or debit
$120 by credit card.

$99 for the year will be valid for the first meeting only.

Announcements for Fall semester have begun - target start date is Sep. 27th - new 'Lean Six Sigma Workshop' being offered.

Business plan for 2007-2008 and Cover letter was submitted on time for the Quality Management Process (QMP)Total Quality (TQ) requirements to ASQ headquarters last August 18, 2008.

Business plan for 2008-2009 was sent to all EB members for review. This will be submitted in September with the Section budget plan for 2008-2009.

Several items to review and analyze. Becker to obtain membership graphs from ASQ HQ.

Several membership retention ideas were discussed, including phone calls to members we haven't seen in a while…etc.

General Electric Plant Tour is on! Flyer distributed. Limited to first 20 respondents. ASQ 304 will cover cost of $17 each.

November speaker identified. Details to be worked out.

A notice about the September 20 deadline for abstracts for the Spring 2009 Quality Conference is up on the NEQC website. It is also on the ASQ events board.
