The NJIT MakerSpace is one of the largest university-based makerspaces in New Jersey and serves as a major hands-on innovation and prototyping hub at New Jersey Institute of Technology in Newark. It is located in the Guttenberg Information Technology Center (GITC) building at 186 Bleeker Street in Newark. The facility is designed for students, faculty, researchers, and industry collaborators to build prototypes, test ideas, and gain practical engineering and manufacturing experience.

The NJIT Makerspace focuses on “rapid prototyping” — turning concepts into working physical products. It supports disciplines including Engineering, Architecture, Industrial Design, Robotics, Manufacturing, Electronics, Computer Science and Digital Fabrication.

The facility contains industrial-grade and educational equipment such as: 3D Printers, Metal Additive Manufacturing Systems, CNC Machining Tools, Laser Cutters, PCB Fabrication Tools, Metrology and Measurement Equipment, CAD/CAM Workstations, Robotics and Mechatronics Equipment and Simulation and Visualization Systems.
